MASTERS SADDLES LTD – Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to purchases made through Masters Saddles Ltd and to saddle fitting appointments, call-outs, and related services.
By placing an order or booking an appointment, you agree to the terms outlined below.
ABOUT US
Masters Saddles Ltd supplies new and second-hand saddles and equestrian equipment through our online shop and provides professional saddle fitting, assessment, and related equestrian services. We also act as a disclosed sales agent for certain client-owned saddles.
Saddle Fitting Appointments & Rider Responsibilities
Where saddle fitting appointments or ridden assessments are carried out, the client is responsible for ensuring that any rider is fit, capable, and medically able to ride. Any disabilities, injuries, or medical conditions that may affect the fitting must be disclosed prior to the appointment.
A ridden assessment is normally required during saddle fitting appointments, and clients must ensure that a suitable rider is available unless agreed otherwise in advance. For safety reasons, ridden assessments cannot be carried out if the rider is pregnant.
Clients must ensure that the working environment is safe. Any loose dogs or animals should be secured during appointments unless known to us and agreed beforehand.
Masters Saddles Ltd reserves the right to exercise professional judgement at all times, including altering or stopping a fitting where horse welfare, rider safety, or professional standards may be compromised.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
We aim to ensure all descriptions, photographs, and specifications are accurate. Second-hand saddles may show signs of age or cosmetic wear consistent with normal use. Customers are responsible for checking product details and suitability prior to purchase. If you are unsure about fit or sizing, please contact us before ordering
COMMISSION & CLIENT-OWNED SADDLES
Some saddles are sold on behalf of private owners. In these cases, Masters Saddles Ltd acts as a disclosed sales agent only. Ownership remains with the seller until completion of sale. The purchase contract remains between the buyer and Masters Saddles Ltd acting as agent
Cancellation Rights (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, customers have the right to cancel most online orders within 14 days of receiving the goods.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing within 14 days of delivery. Goods must then be returned within 14 days of cancellation.
Items may be handled and inspected as they would be in a retail environment. Any use beyond reasonable inspection may result in a deduction from the refund to reflect any reduction in value.
RETURNS & CONDITION OF SADDLES
Saddles must be returned clean, dry and in substantially the same condition in which they were supplied.
Customers should take reasonable care when assessing a saddle. We recommend protecting the saddle from dirt, rain, sweat, fly spray and other products which may stain, mark or damage the leather.
Where a saddle is returned with damage, excessive wear, staining, scratches, marks from stirrup leathers or girths, or any other deterioration beyond what is reasonably necessary to assess the saddle, Masters Saddles Ltd reserves the right to make an appropriate deduction from the refund to reflect any reduction in value.
Unless the saddle is faulty or incorrectly supplied, the customer is responsible for the cost and safe return of the saddle to Masters Saddles Ltd.
7-DAY HOME SADDLE TRIAL – SELECTED SADDLES
Selected saddles may be offered with a 7-Day Home Trial. Eligibility will be clearly stated on the individual product listing.
Full payment for the saddle is required before dispatch.
The 7-day trial period begins on the date the saddle is delivered. During this period the saddle may be assessed carefully for suitability for both horse and rider.
If the saddle is unsuitable, the customer must notify Masters Saddles Ltd within the 7-day trial period and arrange its prompt return.
The saddle must be returned clean, dry and in substantially the same condition in which it was supplied. The customer is responsible for return carriage unless otherwise agreed.
Any damage, excessive wear or reduction in value caused during the trial may result in an appropriate deduction from the refund.
The 7-Day Home Trial is an additional service offered on selected saddles and does not affect the customer’s statutory rights.
CUSTOM OR PERSONALISED ORDERS
Saddles or products made to a customer’s specification, personalised, specially ordered, or customised may be exempt from the 14-day cancellation period once production or ordering has begun. This includes bespoke stitching, altered specifications, or non-standard items requested by the customer.
FAULTY OR MISDESCRIBED GOODS
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, customers have the right to reject goods within 30 days if they are faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose.
If you believe an item is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible with full details. We may request the item be returned for inspection before issuing a repair, replacement, or refund.
Reasonable wear consistent with the age and condition of a second-hand saddle will not be considered a fault.
LIABILITY
Masters Saddles Ltd accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage resulting from incorrect saddle fit, misuse, or failure to seek professional advice where appropriate. Saddles should always be checked for suitability for both horse and rider.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
